Catch-Up Blog Post: “Back in the Garden: What’s Happened in the Last 6 Days”

Introduction:

Hey there, it’s been a while! Life’s been busy, but I’m back in the garden and ready to share the latest updates with you. The last 6 days have been full of exciting changes in my Figgylicious Garden, with lots of new growth, some much-needed care for my plants, and most exciting of all, harvest time for my sweet, jammy figs! 🍇🌱 I’ve been working hard to keep my garden in tip-top shape, so let me walk you through what’s been going on.

As the weather heats up, I’ve been focusing on keeping everything in my garden well-nourished and hydrated — especially my fig trees, which are now flourishing and producing those lovely fruits I’ve been waiting for!

  1. Organic Fertilizing:
One of the most important tasks I’ve been tackling is applying organic fertilizers to all my plants. I believe in feeding the soil naturally to keep the garden thriving, so I’ve been using a combination of compost and organic plant food to give my fig trees (and other plants) a much-needed nutrient boost.

  2. Watering Routine:
With the scorching summer heat here in the Philippines, watering has been a daily necessity. My fig trees especially need extra care during these dry, hot days, so I’ve been ensuring they get enough water to keep the roots hydrated. It’s amazing how quickly plants respond to a little extra TLC!

  3. Cleaning Up the Garden:
The large sour sop, mango, santol, avocado trees surrounding my terrace garden have been shedding tons of leaves, so I’ve been doing a lot of garden clean-up. It’s a great way to keep the space tidy and to ensure the plants can get enough sunlight without debris blocking their growth.

  4. Trimming Dead Twigs:
I’ve also been spending some time trimming dead twigs from my plants. This helps improve air circulation and encourages new, healthy growth. A little pruning can go a long way in keeping everything vibrant and alive!

  5. Harvesting Ripe Figs:
The best part of the last few days has definitely been harvesting the ripe, sweet, and jammy fig fruits! 🍇 Nothing compares to the joy of picking fruit straight from your own garden and eating them fresh. These figs are so delicious and offer great amount of vitamins to the body! They’ve been ripening beautifully in the warm weather, and I’ve been enjoying them in everything from smoothies to snacks.

Conclusion & Call-to-Action:
I’m so glad to be back in the garden and seeing everything come to life! It’s been a productive and rewarding week, and I can’t wait to continue sharing the journey with you.
